Hidden Figures
Directed by Theodore Melfi and Written by Melfi and Allison Schroeder
Based on the nonfiction book of the same name, Hidden Figures is the untold story of 3 brilliant Black Female Mathematicians who pioneered for African Americans and women in the then-uncharted territory of NASA’s Aerospace Program during the late 1950’s. It stars Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monae, and Octavia Spencer. This movie explores things that educated black women had to go through in order to work alongside their white (male or female) counterparts. Though this isn’t a Christian film, it's still a deeply inspirational one. I walked away thankful for the foundation these women, and many like them made in order that I could learn, work and innovate now.
