Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together In the Cafeteria
by Beverly Daniel Tatum

Beverly Daniel Tatum  is not only a thoughtful author but an insightful psychologist that walks readers through the development of one’s racial identity (both white and black) from preschool through adulthood. Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together In the Cafeteria  was written in 1997, but continues to be an impactful book used to educate and promote healthy discussion about race. This book is important because Tatum not only helps readers grow in their understanding of racism, how it impacts child development, but also helps to move readers  past the denial of it. While this is not written from a Biblical perspective, it is still a valuable read as it provides another perspective on race and racism.
